Alison Levine

Team Captain of the First American Women’s Everest Expedition in 2002

Alison Levine

Travels From:

 New York, United States

Alison Levine began climbing mountains in 1998, 18 months after her second heart surgery to repair a life threatening condition called Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome. In between starting business school and starting a career with a top Wall Street firm, Alison Levine “accidentally” climbed the highest peak on each of SIX continents. In the spring of 2002, she was invited to serve as the team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition, an experience that would change her life forever.

The Today Show, CNN, CNBC, World News Tonight, Fox News, and 450 other media outlets around the world documented her team efforts throughout the course of the expedition as they battled the elements for two months in the name of teamwork, determination and the power of American women. In March 2003 Alison Levine received the Courage in Sports Award from the World Champion Anaheim Angels. Her story has been the subject of articles in Oprah Magazine, National Geographic, Lifetime Magazine, Sports Illustrated Woman, and other national publications.

In addition, Alison recently returned from a successful expedition to the Arctic Circle where the team crossed nearly 100 miles of ice on foot and on skis to reach the geographic North Pole.

Prior to her career on Wall Street, Alison Levine spent 11 years working in sales and marketing in the healthcare industry in the US and in Asia. In 2003 she served as Deputy Finance Director for Arnold Schwarzenegger in his successful bid to become Governor of California. Alison Levine earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and her MBA from Duke University.

Lessons From Everest
Every climb requires a unique approach, whether it’s up the face of Everest, the corporate ladder, or into a position of market leadership. Alison draws upon 18 years of business experience in order to deliver a customized, focused, and relevant message to her audiences. Her presentations focus on the parallels between staying alive on the world’s most dangerous peaks and succeeding in a fast-paced business world. The skills required to climb big mountains are no different from the skills required to succeed in business … Leadership, teamwork, determination, tenacity, and the ability to adapt to a changing environment are as critical in the jet stream as they are in the workplace.

This presentation will take you on an incredible journey above the clouds; where the magnificent views make up for the sub-zero temperatures, hurricane force winds, and altitude sickness. Her breathtaking visuals will take you on a journey to Mt Everest, the North Pole, and up the slopes of mountains from every continent on the planet … where willpower is as important a qualification as skill and experience, and good judgment is the most essential piece of equipment.

If you are looking for a refreshingly different type of keynote presentation for your next meeting or corporate event, Alison Levine’s “Lessons from Everest” will motivate, inspire, and entertain.
