Bob McDonald is the retired chairman, president and CEO of Procter & Gamble. A 33-year veteran of the company, he had a distinguished career at P&G – one of the top 15 most-valuable companies in the world based on its market capitalization. McDonald has brand-building, market development, global business unit, and global operations leadership experience across P&G and throughout the world. He has lived and worked on nearly every continent. Under McDonald’s leadership, the company added nearly a billion more consumers and grew organic sales by an average of about three percent per year with core earnings per share up an average of about four percent. P&G’s stock price rose from $51.10 the day he became CEO to $81.64 on the day his last quarterly results were announced – a 60 percent increase.
Prior to P&G, McDonald served as an airborne ranger captain in the U.S. Army, primarily in the 82nd Airborne Division, while simultaneously earning his MBA. In 2007, he received the inaugural Leadership Excellence Award from the U.S. Naval Academy and Harvard Business Review. He is passionate about helping others improve their lives. Along with business strategy, he teaches values-based leadership and how leaders can develop their leadership beliefs based upon their own experiences.
